Boston Biotech Clinical Research was created to help emerging life science companies with their clinical research and analysis. It began a few years ago when Dr. Candida Fratazzi was asked to create a clinical strategy and plan that would:
- 1. Require study participation of a very small number of individuals.
- 2. Be completed in a two year time-frame.
3. Position the new drug to compete on the market with a drug that had a monopoly for 15 years.
The clinical strategy and plan that she created met all of the above requirements, and was approved by the FDA without changes. In this case, she’d been working with Shire, a global pharmaceutical company. But not long after, Dr. Fratazzi founded BBCR, and set out to help young biopharmaceutical companies with the same sort of expensive and complicated clinical work.
In the last year Dr. Fratazzi has helped three biotech companies in their clinical development needs and she’s planning on expanding her group to support more companies at even earlier stages of their clinical development.
Originally from Rome, Italy, Dr. Fratazzi recently came in third for Best Italian Female Scientist Working in North America, by Bridges to Italy, an Italian-U.S. business connector. Congratulations, Candida!
